Shihan Lamei started training in karate at the age of 12. At age 16, he earned his Nidan (2nd Degree) Black Belt. He became an Iranian Air Force Coach at the age of 24, and by the age of 27 he became Head Coach. He moved to America in 1983. He has over 40 years of experience and has taught over 5,000 students. He has lead many students to local, regional, and U.S. national championships, including his son, Sensei Amir Lamei, who is a 9 time U.S. National Junior Champion.
Dr. Amir Lamei is the son of Shihan Siamak Lamei. He started training under his father at age 6 and has been in martial arts for 27 years. He holds a Yondan (4th Degree) Black Belt in both Shotokan karate and Olympic Style Taekwondo (World Taekwondo Federation), and a Sandan (3rd Degree) Black Belt in ITA Taekwondo, in which he won 9 National Championships. In 2003 he and his father started Ultimate Karate and Fitness in Marietta and are proud to have led many of their students to becoming state, regional, and National Champions. Sensei Amir took a hiatus from teaching martial arts in 2010 when he moved to Augusta, Georgia to attend the Medical College of Georgia.
He graduated from Dental school in 2014 and continued his education by specializing in Orthodontics. While in Dental school, Dr. Lamei was inducted a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and served as President of the American Student Dental Association. He is now practicing Orthodontics in Marietta with Dr. Harold Enoch and is happy to be back in the dojo.
Kids do better when there is a clear structure. While this isn’t a new phenomenon, it’s not that common. We strive to provide a highly structured program to ensure the best outcomes for the kids!
Our Instructors continue to train themselves. Not just for their personal self-defense skills but to improve their teaching ability plus they love this stuff. You won’t find more passionate people anywhere else.
Team sports can be good however when you enroll in our Marietta Karate classes, you will see your child’s confidence take off because this is individual-based system. They get to thrive in their own world.
While you may care more about their safety, discipline, confidence, respect, defense skills, the kids here love it because it’s just plain fun! Every class is unique and keeps the kids engaged.
There are so many great things to say about ultimate karate and fitness! the instructors are great with the kids. The after school program is amazing. they have a snack, do their homework, get play time, and a karate class! they even pick them up on early release days and sometimes take them to the park. When school is out they offer awesome camps. They get to do crafts and go on field trips. My son loves it here!
We love this place! All the teachers are amazing at what they do. Our son fell in love with karate at his first class during the summer, we ended up signing up for a year. They offer a lot more than just karate, for the kids and adults. So happy we gave this dojo a try, we’ll be definitely sticking around for awhile.
We love Ultimate Karate! Sensei Melanie is so good with kids. She understands that they fall out of line and get distracted sometimes, and she knows how to bring them back in gently. I am very happy to have found this Dojo and the discipline for my daughter.
My kids have been going there for years. The staff treats the kids like they are family. They do so much more than just karate with after school care, camps, parents night out and charities!
It’s been a great experience to be part of the UKF community. My son attends classes, after school programs and school break programs, all are amazing! The instructors are the best, very professional and friendly.

We have been part of this dojo for 2 years and it has been a great experience. The staff is diligent and very intentional about actually teaching and instilling discipline into the lives of their students. Highly recommend.
UKF treats its students and parents like family. Excellent, authentic instruction and one of the few local places where you have the chance to compete on an elite team!
Best place for karate! We recently moved out of state. Our son had attended UKF for four years. We have tried no less than five karate places in our new location and none of them even come close to the excellence of UKF. The combination of technique-driven karate and the opportunity for community (after school program, summer camps, Halloween parties, parents night out, etc…) is unmatched. All the instructors are amazing and truly want the kids to succeed and grow into healthy well-rounded people.

This is a very nice place for kids and adults and the people are there like a family . They teach karate very well and professional. My son and I like there so much.👍
Great place to train! The instruction at this Dojo is of very high quality from all of the teachers. Overall, it is a fantastic Dojo that demands a lot from its students, but at the same time, is always open to giving the students every opportunity for advancement and perfection of character. Everyone here is very respectful, professional, and very knowledgeable. Having the added bonus of a direct Shotokan lineage is a real plus! I am quite pleased to have the opportunity to train here.
